The Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD), an attached agency of the Department of Technology (DOST) of the Philippines, conducted a meeting of the nation's quantum scientists to discuss the national agenda on quantum technologies. The program, which was hosted together with the National Institute of Physics (NIP), was held 9-10 October 2025 at the Acacia Hotel Manila, Mandaluyong City, Philippines.
I was privileged to attend the meeting as a representative of the De La Salle University. I am not a researcher in quantum science myself, but the technological innovation that will come out of quantum science and technology research will benefit my own research work in terms of speedy and efficient data crunching and simulation (through quantum computing innovation, for example).
The program started with an opening remarks from Edna Nacianceno, Chief Science Research Specialist representing PCIEERD. She presented the quantum technology roadmap for the Philippines for 2030.
