The Mountain Streams of Nagcarlan

I came back to the same roads that lead to Laguna. This time with family. And with a definite destination.

We left the house really early, lacking sleep but giddy with excitement. The first rays of the sun caught us in Tanay. The 24-hour carinderias had yummy hot soup.

As we pass through the winding roads by the edge of the Sierra Madre, we stop from time to time to marvel at the views across the horizon.

It took another windy path, this time on the foothills of the Banahaw. The roads are very narrow and steep, but the ride was worth it seeing the clear waters of the streams we will be soaking in.

We bathed in the streams the entire day and night. Even the continuous flow of water, the sound it makes as it hits the rocks along its way, is very relaxing.

The kids had fun. The adults even more. Even the ride back home was pleasant and fun.

I guess we all needed that break. That should do it for now. That should keep us sane for the months ahead. ■
